Distances are approximate from downtown Waterville. Colby’s campus is separate from Main Street. Winslow is across the river; Belgrade and Rome require separate drives. French Mountain is in Rome, in the Belgrade Lakes region. Performances and paddling need their own arrangements; no lake rental, interior fort access or ticket is included. Before you go
0.8-mile loop with roughly 200 feet of climbing; northern section is steep and rocky. Trailhead on Watson Pond Road. Check map and conditions, keep dogs controlled and wear blaze orange during hunting season.
